This Privacy Policy describes how the Einbürgerungstest AI app ("the App"), published by icoders360 ("we", "us"), handles information when you use the App. The App may be listed on the App Store under a name that includes the current year (e.g. "Einbürgerungstest AI: 2026") — this Policy applies regardless of that year suffix.
The App is a study tool for the German naturalization ("Einbürgerungstest") exam. It does not require an account or login. Your quiz progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us. We use Firebase to understand app usage and to catch crashes, described below.
The App stores the following locally on your device, using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults). This data is never transmitted to us or any third party:
We use Firebase Analytics (a service provided by Google) to understand how the App is used — for example, which screens are visited and which buttons are tapped — so we can improve it. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not collect your Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
We use Firebase Crashlytics (a service provided by Google) to automatically receive crash reports if the App unexpectedly stops working. This may include device model, OS version, and the state of the App at the time of the crash, so we can fix bugs.
If you enable notifications, the App schedules local reminders on your device (e.g. to encourage practice). These are generated and delivered entirely on-device and are not based on any data we collect.
The App includes an optional "Explain More" feature that lets you ask follow-up questions about a specific exam question and get an AI-generated explanation. This feature is only used if you tap the chat button and type a message yourself — it is never automatic.
Depending on your device and your selection in the chat, this feature is powered by one of two sources:
Chat conversations are not linked to your identity — the App has no accounts or logins — and are not saved by the App once you close the chat; each conversation starts fresh. When Gemini is used, your message content is processed by Google according to Google's own applicable terms, in order to generate a response back to the App.
The App does not currently display advertising. If we introduce advertising in a future update, this policy will be updated in advance to describe the ad network used, what data it collects (which may include your Advertising Identifier for ad personalization), and you will be asked for consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and, where applicable, a cookie/consent banner for users in the EU/EEA, before any such tracking begins.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not sell your data. The third-party services used are Google's Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, described above, and — only when you use the "Explain More" chat with the Gemini option — Google's Gemini API (via Firebase AI Logic), described above. Each processes data on our behalf, or on Google's own behalf for Gemini requests, under their own respective privacy terms.
You can disable notifications at any time in the App's settings or in iOS Settings. Analytics and crash data collection is standard for the App's operation; if you have concerns, you may stop using the App.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes (such as the introduction of advertising) will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
